Pass Grade Abolished in Nigerian Universities by NUC

National Universities Commission (NUC) has abolished the award of pass grade by Nigerian Universities, which take effect from the 2013/2014 academic session. This decision taken by the NUC was made known to the public by the vice chancellor of Usmanu DanFodiyo University, Sokoto. Professor Abdullahi Zuru during the Schools 2014/2015 Matriculation ceremony which took place on the 4th of February, 2015.
According to the vice chancellor the minimum grading system to be used by Nigerian Universities would be 45 percent which represents a “D” grade rather than the 40 percent which represented an “E” grade. What this therefore means is that the minimum grade a Nigerian Student can graduate with will┬ábe a Third class.
