Role Overview
The Strategic Partnerships Executive will drive growth for the Verve card scheme by establishing and managing partnerships with local and global entities. This role focuses on building business relationships, market expansion, and innovative product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and onboard strategic partners, executing agreements efficiently.
- Provide weekly updates on partnership pipelines to the Team Lead.
- Expand Verve products into new African markets and manage strategic expansion initiatives.
- Develop innovative solutions to grow the Verve scheme business.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance for onboarding and integration.
- Follow up with prospective partners to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
- Conduct market research to identify potential strategic partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Technology, Marketing, Finance, Risk, Legal, and Compliance.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Team Lead, Strategic Partnerships.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in a business-related field; MBA is a plus.
- French proficiency is an advantage.
- 3–6 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Corporate Banking, Electronic Banking, Transaction Banking, or FinTech.
- Track record of closing deals with corporates (added advantage).
- Experience in consulting, telecom, or Pan-African business engagements is beneficial.
- Experience in card issuance, acquiring, and payments projects is a plus.
