Applications are open for the 2026 ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) Young Professional Programme, an opportunity for qualified young graduates from ECOWAS member countries to begin a professional career with the Bank.

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) is seeking young professionals to join its headquarters in Lomé, Togo, as Young Trainee Professional Staff.

The programme is designed to give early-career professionals practical exposure to the Bank's operations while working alongside experienced staff across different departments.

Successful candidates will initially be offered a two-year fixed-term contract, including a six-month probation period. Candidates who successfully complete the probation period may have their appointments converted to open-ended contracts, subject to the programme's terms and performance requirements.

About the EBID Young Professional Programme

The Young Professional Programme provides participants with an opportunity to develop professional experience within a regional development finance institution.

During the programme, trainees will rotate through different EBID departments and work under the guidance of senior members of staff. This is intended to expose participants to the Bank's policies, programmes, operations and development activities.

The programme is particularly suitable for young graduates who want to build careers in banking, finance, economics, technology, infrastructure, business, law and other areas related to regional development.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be a citizen of an ECOWAS Member State.
• Be below 30 years of age at the time of recruitment.
• Possess a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in a field relevant to EBID's activities.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, research and organizational abilities.
• Be capable of working effectively under pressure.
• Be comfortable working in a multicultural and international environment.
• Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
• Be fluent in at least one of EBID's working languages: English, French or Portuguese.
• Have a working knowledge of at least one of the other two working languages.

Salary and Benefits

Successful Young Professionals will be classified as professional staff of EBID and placed at Grade P1-1 under the Bank's staff classification and salary structure.
