MTN Foundation ICT & Business Skills Training 2026: Apply for Phase 8 and Stand a Chance to Receive ₦1 Million Grant

The MTN Foundation ICT and Business Skills Training Programme is now accepting applications for Phase 8, providing young Nigerian female entrepreneurs with practical digital and business skills to help them build stronger and more competitive businesses.

The initiative is designed for Nigerian women aged 18 to 35 who own and manage microbusinesses. Participants will gain practical knowledge in technology, digital tools and business management that can be applied directly to their businesses.

Since its launch in 2018, the programme has successfully completed seven phases in partnership with leading organisations including Google, Oracle, KPMG, IBM, Digital Bridge Institute, Cisco, Meta and Microsoft.

So far, the programme has reached 29 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with 15,362 young microbusiness owners having completed the training.

What Phase 8 Offers

Phase 8 will be delivered over five weeks through a blended learning model. Participants will combine:

  • Self-paced online learning modules

  • Instructor-led training sessions

  • Business masterclasses led by experienced entrepreneurs

  • A practical capstone project challenge

  • Data support to facilitate participation throughout the training

The programme is designed to help participants turn newly acquired digital and business skills into practical improvements within their businesses.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Gender: Female Nigerian

  • Age: 18–35 years

  • Business: Must own and manage a microbusiness that has been operating for no more than two years

  • Location: The business must be located in Rivers, Abia, Ogun, Kwara, Kano or Gombe State

Grant Opportunity

The programme also provides a significant funding opportunity for outstanding participants.

The top 100 participants will be eligible to receive equipment grants of up to ₦1,000,000 each, from a total grant fund of ₦100 million.

Beyond the grant opportunity, previous editions of the programme have helped participating entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses, embrace digital tools and improve their ability to compete in an increasingly technology-driven economy.
