Job Description
- We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer to join our team in Sagamu.
- The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures to mitigate hazards.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, and training sessions.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and report any non-compliance.
- Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE standards and legislation.
- Organize and facilitate HSE training sessions and toolbox meetings for employees.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Candidates must either reside in Sagamu or be willing to relocate.
- Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or relevant local certifications).
- Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
