Job Title: HSE Officer

Location: Sagamu, Ogun

Job Description

  • We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer to join our team in Sagamu.
  • The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety guidelines and report any non-compliance.
  • Collaborate with management to foster a culture of safety awareness across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE standards and legislation.
  • Organize and facilitate HSE training sessions and toolbox meetings for employees.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Candidates must either reside in Sagamu or be willing to relocate.
  • Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or relevant local certifications).
  • Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
