Job Summary
The Make Ready Coordinator/Security Escort oversees the preparation of leased residential units for occupancy across all Mission agencies. With more than 150 short-term leased properties in Abuja, this role is essential in ensuring housing readiness and compliance with U.S. Mission standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Coordinating with the General Services Office, Facilities Maintenance, and the RSO Office to prepare housing units for newly assigned staff.

Inspecting residences prior to employee departure to check for damages to government-furnished furniture, appliances, and equipment.

Supervising contractor teams (3–6 staff or more) to ensure work meets required standards.

Serving as a security escort when needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
-
Completion of high school is required.
Experience:
-
Minimum of three (3) years of responsible experience in administration and/or building trades.
Language:
-
Fluent English (speaking, reading, and writing) is required.
Job Knowledge:
-
Familiarity with administrative procedures.
Skills and Abilities:
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer skills.

Strong project management and meeting planning abilities.

Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication, and attention to detail.

Ability to interact tactfully in person, by phone, and via email.

Must hold a valid Class C general-purpose driver’s license for at least 5 years.

Keyboard/typing proficiency.

Ability to perform basic math (e.g., calculating square footage).
Other Requirements

Must be able to obtain and hold a low risk/non-sensitive security clearance.

May be subject to a background investigation and pre-employment medical exam.

Must be able to start work within 6 weeks of receiving authorization/clearances.
