We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Payroll Officer
Location: Nigeria
Job Summary
- To manage and process employee salaries and wages, ensuring accurate and timely payments while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Calculate and process employee salaries, wages, and other compensation, including allowances, bonuses and overtime.
- Ensure payroll processes and practices comply with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
- Conduct own audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of payroll records and processes.
- Responsible for timely and accurate posting of payroll journals.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll, such as incorrect payments or tax calculation.
- Accurately calculate and withhold relevant taxes, as well as other deductions like Pension, Cooperative, Dues & Levies and other required deductions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional Certification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in payroll processing or a related HR/finance role.
The Person Must:
- Have a good verbal and written communication skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and other payroll/HR software.
- Have a good understanding of labor laws, tax regulations, pensions, and statutory deductions.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Have excellent knowledge of payroll systems, processes, and practices.
- Possess strong numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
