Security Escort at the U.S. Embassy

The U.S. Mission to Nigeria comprises of the Embassy in Abuja, FCT, and the Consulate General in Lagos. U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Security Escort

Summary

  • We are seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Security Escort in the Facilities Maintenace Section.

Duties

  • Escorts all uncleared maintenance crews, janitors, contractors and other service personnel in secure areas for the duration of their work.
  • Ensures that secure arears remain uncompromised and escorts all uncleared personnel out of the secure area when the work is completed. 
  • Escort duties may require working after-hours and weekends.
  • Provides security escort support for diplomatic couriers upon arrival and departure.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:

  • All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a top-secret security clearance. 
  • All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.  
  • Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma is required.

Experience:

  • One year of work experience in office management is required.

Language: 

  • Good working knowledge speaking/reading/writing English is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Thorough knowledge of regulations governing control and protection of classified material is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of general office procedures, computers and Microsoft Office is required.

Skills And Abilities:

  • Customer service skills and the ability to interact with the local staff and all levels of personnel is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, be a U.S. citizen and be eligible to obtain a top-secret clearance.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be willing to direct workers to ensure that security is not compromised.

Salary
USD $34,454 /Per Year.
