Role Overview

  • The Terminal Manager leads end-to-end terminal operations — ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance.
  • You will drive excellence through Lean principles, empower teams, and deliver sustainable business results while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence & Lean Leadership:

  • Lead daily terminal operations, ensuring smooth, safe performance.
  • Champion the Lean Operating System, driving SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) metrics.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks using Lean tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Continuously refine systems, processes, and routines for better performance.
  • Build a safety-first culture with continuous HSE improvement.

Performance Management:

  • Translate strategy into clear operational plans and KPIs.
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency, and cost leadership across operations.
  • Drive holistic improvement across the terminal, not isolated KPIs.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimise performance and costs.

Leadership & People Development:

  • Lead by example, modelling Lean leadership and values.
  • Build and develop high-performing, empowered teams.
  • Coach and prepare talent pipelines for key roles.
  • Engage with frontline employees to inspire and drive results.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven senior leadership experience in ports, terminals, or logistics.
  • Business acumen with the ability to balance cost, performance, and customer value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Resilient, curious, and driven by continuous improvement.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on application of Lean methodologies.
  • Strong leadership in safety, performance, and cost optimisation.
  • Experience managing large, diverse teams and unionised environments.
