Executive Coordinator & Trustee Liaison at The Nature Conservancy (Hybrid)

 Are you an organized, mission-driven administrative professional with strong project coordination skills? The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is searching for an Executive Coordinator & Trustee Liaison to support senior leadership in California and serve as the primary contact for the California Board of Trustees. This full-time hybrid role offers the chance to work closely with conservation teams, board members, and partners who are dedicated to protecting our planet’s most vital ecosystems.

Position Overview

The Executive Coordinator & Trustee Liaison provides high-level executive support to two senior leaders overseeing Conservation Programs and Business Operations. You will manage calendars, coordinate travel, plan special events, prepare meeting documentation, and handle sensitive correspondence.

In this unique role, you will also serve as liaison to the California Board of Trustees—some of TNC’s most influential advocates and supporters. You will manage board meetings, committee coordination, governance processes, and the delivery of polished meeting materials that meet brand and quality standards.

This position offers wide exposure to critical conservation work across land, water, oceans, and climate initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support two senior leaders through scheduling, travel management, and high-level administrative tasks.

  • Coordinate logistics for three annual Board meetings and ongoing committee engagement.

  • Produce high-quality pre-reads, PowerPoints, and post-meeting materials.

  • Take clear, accurate meeting minutes and record strategic decisions.

  • Foster excellent Trustee experiences through structured workflows and brand-compliant documentation.

  • Serve as a point of contact for Trustees, staff, donors, volunteers, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Manage invoices, purchasing, and vendor contracts.

  • Track budgets and ensure compliance with donor, IRS, and Conservancy policies.

  • Drive process improvements, build documentation, and increase system efficiency.

  • Participate in new initiatives and cross-functional projects.

  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound independent judgment.

  • Travel within California when required.

This wide-reaching position supports mission-critical work while enhancing internal collaboration across departments and programs.


Minimum Qualifications

To succeed, you should bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related professional experience (or equivalent).

  • Experience coordinating executive schedules and stakeholder communications.

  • Experience generating reports, interpreting data, and managing contacts.

  • Familiarity with database systems.

  • Experience working across departments or cross-functional teams.

Salary Range

This position offers a competitive salary range:

$70,304 – $90,225 USD
(For U.S. and California-based candidates only. Compensation outside the U.S. is currency-adjusted based on local labor markets.)
