We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Import Purchase Coordinator
Location: Ajaokuta, Kogi
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate international purchases: Manage end-to-end procurement of imported goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing.
- Liaise with global suppliers: Communicate with overseas vendors to confirm orders, negotiate terms, and track shipments.
- Monitor shipment status: Track and update shipment progress, resolve delays, and coordinate with logistics providers.
- Maintain procurement records: Keep accurate records of purchases, pricing, delivery, and inventory levels.
- Support cost control: Analyze landed costs and suggest cost-saving opportunities in the import process.
- Handle import documentation: Prepare and verify shipping documents including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure customs compliance: Work with customs brokers and regulatory bodies to ensure all imports meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineeringbor a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in import coordination, purchasing, or international logistics.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills for dealing with suppliers and freight agents.
- Attention to detail in handling documentation and compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Problem-solving mindset to manage delays, discrepancies, and vendor issues.
