 Monument Distillers Nigeria Limited (MDN) launched in Nigeria in March 2019 with the acquisition of the 1960 Rootz Bitters brand and the state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, moving Rootz’ production facility to Lagos.

About the Role

  • We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Key Accounts Ambassador (MRA) to join Monument
  • Distillers’ Modern Retail team based in Lagos. The role of Key Account Ambassador is pivotal in driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring flawless execution of our retail strategy (Modern Trade).

  • This role reports to the Head of Modern Retail.

The candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Achieve monthly and annual volume and value sales targets across assigned modern retail accounts.
  • Execute weekly call schedules to ensure full account coverage and consistent customer engagement.
  • Drive category growth by identifying opportunities for pricing, promotions, and product mix optimization.
  • Facilitate the opening of new credit accounts in line with company policy.
  • Hire, train, and manage In-Store Representatives (ISR) and Brand Ambassadors to deliver strong retail execution.
  • Ensure effective territory coverage and optimal deployment of team and resources.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly, ensuring excellent service delivery.
  • Ensure the adequate utilisation of MDN’s brand assets to increase brand awareness.
  • Support market activations and all other marketing/promotional initiatives
  • Ensure orders are placed through MDN’s Proprietary App and maintain strong stock availability across all outlets.
  • Build and nurture long-term partnerships with key retail clients to drive customer retention (Account Development & Management).
  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, and in-store visibility to maximize brand presence.
  • Identify and onboard new retail accounts to expand market coverage.
  • Information gathering for the purpose of market intelligence and effective decision making.
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure timely receivables and managing overdue accounts.

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG sales, account management, or modern retail operations.
  • Proven track record in driving sales performance and market growth
  • Ability to analyse sales data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
