The Role: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Nigeria
We are searching for a highly motivated and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to be a central pillar in maintaining and optimizing our world-class beverage production lines. This role is crucial for ensuring peak machine performance, driving efficiency targets, and mentoring our technical teams.
๐ Key Responsibilities: Driving Efficiency and Reliability
Production & Performance Mastery
Ensure production lines consistently meet and exceed net efficiency targets and maintain high line readiness.
Maximize machine utilization, closely tracking and reporting against established maintenance KPIs.
Maintenance Leadership (Autonomous, Preventive, Planned, Predictive)
Autonomous Maintenance: Implement and audit production line lubrication maps and logs, set comprehensive inspection lists, and plan/execute autonomous maintenance activities (Inspection, Lubrication, Tightening).
Troubleshooting: Take the lead on major breakdown troubleshooting (30+ minutes), develop thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and actively coach Shift Leaders and operators on effective line troubleshooting techniques.
Preventive & Planned Maintenance: Define and execute corrective/preventive actions derived from RCA. Plan, assess, and execute scheduled production line overhauls and planned maintenance activities, ensuring strict PM compliance.
Line Stability: Implement Commissioning, Qualification, and Verification (CQV) protocols to guarantee stable and sustained line restarts post-maintenance.
Predictive Maintenance (PdM): Own the plant's PdM process, including the creation, monitoring, and analysis of predictive health data.
Supply Chain & Team Development
Spare Parts Management: Define and manage critical spare parts lists, ensuring Min/Max stock levels and availability within the plant warehouse. Coordinate spare parts ordering (aligned with R&M and working capital budgets) and manage technical inspection/receipt on SAP.
Coaching & Mentoring: Act as the onboarding mentor/buddy for new Mechanical SMEs and PM Technicians, providing essential coaching and training across all maintenance tasks.
Compliance & Improvement: Serve as a Circle Leader within the PM (Progressive Maintenance) agenda. Ensure adherence to and meet KPIs for all plant audits (AIB/TPM/GESMS), upholding all quality, food safety, and EHS guidelines.
๐ What You Bring to the Table
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent).
Experience: 1-3 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or high-speed manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills: Proven troubleshooting skills in a production setting.
Foundational Skills: Fluency in English and strong computer proficiency.
Behavioral: Basic leadership skills, a high level of adaptability, and the ability to effectively collaborate within diverse cultures.
