The Nigerian Army invites applications from suitably qualified Nigerians for commission into the following specialist corps under the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026. This opportunity is open to both civilians and serving military personnel.

Available Positions/Corps:

  • Nigerian Army Engineers Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Technology/Construction, Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
  • Nigerian Army Signals Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or Cyber Security.
  • Nigerian Army Medical Corps Positions include: Medical Doctors, Consultants (various specialties), Nurses, Pharmacists, Dentists, Physiotherapists, Radiographers, and other Allied Health Professionals. Requirements: Relevant professional qualifications and registration with appropriate regulatory bodies (e.g., Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria). Age limit up to 40 years for Medical Consultants.
  • Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or Armament Technology.
  • Nigerian Army Education Corps Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Humanities, Sciences, Museum/Archival Studies, or Guidance & Counseling.

General Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
  • Age: 20 – 32 years (except Medical Consultants: up to 40 years).
  • Minimum height: 1.68m (male), 1.65m (female).
  • Medically, physically, and mentally fit.
  • No criminal record, tattoos, or cult affiliations.
  • Possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division Bachelor's degree or Upper Credit HND from an accredited institution.
  • Professional qualifications must be fully registered with relevant bodies where applicable.
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate or Letter of Exemption.
  • Valid birth certificate and certificate of state of origin.
