Job Title: Research Writer

Location: Costain, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Summary

• We are seeking a highly experienced Research Writer to produce rigorous academic, policy, and thought-leadership content. The role requires independent intellectual contribution, strong subject-matter expertise, and a proven publication record in governance, development, or African studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct high-level qualitative and quantitative research.
• Ensure ethical research standards, accuracy, and proper citation.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners.
• Write and publish academic papers, policy briefs, white papers, and opinion pieces.
• Provide original analysis on African governance, development, and related fields.

Requirements

• PhD (completed or ABD) OR Master’s degree with 10+ years of research writing experience.
• 5–10+ peer-reviewed journal publications.
• Deep expertise in African governance, development, indigenous knowledge systems, or related areas.
• Track record as an independent intellectual producer.
• Demonstrated ability to write academic papers, policy documents, and analytical opinion pieces.

Salary
N300,000 - N500,000 per month.
