Data Analytics Officer at Polaris Bank
It was announced that Polaris Bank, a financial institution established by the Central Bank of Nigeria on September 21, 2018, is currently recruiting for the position of Data Analytics Officer. The bank explained that it began operations immediately after acquiring the assets and certain liabilities of the former Skye Bank.
Management noted that with over 350 branches nationwide, the bank has built a reputation for strong customer service supported by advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT). They emphasised that the bank continues to maintain a significant role in the Nigerian banking sector by providing secure, convenient, and technology-driven banking experiences through channels such as mobile banking, ATMs, POS, and digital platforms.
Role Information
According to the bank, the position of Data Analytics Officer is a full-time role based in Lagos, under the Retail Banking Department.
The bank stated that the officer will play a key role in analysing data to support strategic decision-making. They added that the position is central to improving operational efficiency, enhancing customer experience, and supporting product development through actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
The bank highlighted the following duties:

Collecting, cleaning, and validating data from various internal and external sources to ensure reliability.

Conducting statistical analysis and creating dashboards, reports, and visual insights for effective communication.

Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and offering recommendations to improve business strategies.

Ensuring adherence to data governance, privacy, and security policies.

Staying informed on new analytics tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Working with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities for improved processes and business growth.

Developing predictive models and applying machine-learning techniques for forecasting and trend analysis.
Qualification and Experience Requirements
Polaris Bank indicated that applicants should possess:

A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or analytics certifications are considered an added advantage.

Strong proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.

Experience working with big-data platforms or cloud analytics solutions, which was described as beneficial.

A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or similar roles.
