A reputable manufacturer of premium building materials in Nigeria, with over three decades of industry experience, is known for producing high-quality products such as tiles, marble, granite, adhesives, grouts and light steel gauge profiles. All products are carefully engineered to meet international standards, offering reliable local alternatives to imported materials and supporting the growth of Nigeria’s construction sector.

We are currently seeking to hire for the role below:

Job Title: Import Purchase Coordinator

Location: Ajaokuta, Kogi State

Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full import purchasing cycle from sourcing to final delivery, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
  • Communicate and negotiate with international suppliers regarding pricing, order confirmation and shipment timelines.
  • Track and monitor shipment progress while resolving logistics delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, cost data, delivery schedules and inventory levels.
  • Analyze landed costs and recommend cost-saving improvements.
  • Prepare and verify import documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and certificates of origin.
  • Ensure customs compliance by working with clearing agents and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in import coordination, purchasing or global supply logistics.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with overseas suppliers and freight partners.
  • High attention to detail in documentation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability to handle logistics challenges and vendor issues.
